Leland,

A few remarks if I may:

The prize fund seemed very generous for a 75 player field. The $20 prizes were for a four-way tie for fourth place in a lower section.

75 players is a fair turnout. Not nearly as good as the 104 player turnout last year in Charlotte, but much better than the poor 45 player turnout in 2013. (Abate) Location, of course, is the main reason for that. I think the tourney was a home-run for the players (which is what the NCCA comment referred) not so much for NCCA as far as raising revenue or getting new members.

NCCA's incompetence with the web page is indeed annoying. All it takes is one email from an officer to the webmaster and old ads get removed. In fact, they could even direct him in advance to remove ads as soon as the date of event has passed. The program does this automatically for upcoming events list.

Yeah, Annual Meeting minutes should have been promptly posted. But that's another recurring issue.

BTW, glad to see the olive branch and the complimentary words with respect to Gary Newsom. That could cause people to have a better demeanor towards you.

Addendum:

Hey, you're right regarding Cremisi winning the championship trophy. And it is strange that this is only mentioned as an afterthought in one of the forum posts. Though Cremisi seems to be pictured with small trophy (looks more like a plaque), as well as another tied player in lowest section, they are presented as co champions. Why have a play-off/tie-break game if you don't want to emphasize an individual winner? Are they caught up in trying to make the tied non champions feel better? The apparent small trophy/plaque and their depiction of tied non champions as champions suggests that they didn't really want an individual champion to be recognized as such. Ridiculous.
