The Charlotte Chess Club is the premier "adult" chess club in the southeast.  The CCC is open to players of every race, color, creed, national origin, gender, religion, political affiliation or galaxy!  As a CCC member, you are expected to treat your fellow members equally, with dignity and respect regardless of skill level or experience. In accordance with the standards of good sportsmanship, all members are asked to shake hands before and after each game! If during play, a possible rules violation occurs, you must first, stop your clock and report the situation to the Tournament Director. (A loud verbal confrontation over the rules is a distraction to everyone) The TD will make the necessary ruling.  If a noise distraction occurs, you may stop your clock, turn to the "minor noise violators" and silently place your finger over your lips! After the "talkers" acknowledge your complaint, you resume your game. All postmortem analysis must be moved to an area away from games which are still in progress. Anyone who violates these rules will receive 10 lashes with a wet noodle... Have fun!!  NMLF

Поздравляем!
For 70+ years, the NCCA recognized a soul State Champion
, like most every other state chess organization in the country; (and on the occasions where they didn't, they should have!) Then somehow, the "Articles of Incorporation" replaced the constitution which erroneously specified that players who tied for 1st Place should share the title?? That would only be logical if 2 or more players finished with a perfect score! Otherwise, it's ridiculous? Congratulations to 15 year old NM Daniel Cremisi (2251) who finished =1st-3rd with 3.5-1.5 and by virtue of tie-breaks, should be crowned 2015 North Carolina State Champion!
**************************************
Kudos to Charlene "Curley" Howard (1102) who finished clear 1st Place in the U1100 Section of RA55 with 3-0 and gained 110 rating points!
**************************************
Congratulations to 14 year old Mark Boyd (1174) who finished clear 1st Place in the Top Section of the Charlotte Fall Scholastics with 4-0.
**************************************
Kudos to Michael Uwakwe (1982) who finished clear 1st Place in McAlister's XV with 4-1. Honorable mention to Danny "the Stopper" Cropper (1654) who eclipsed the 1600 mark and Drew Canning (1400) who broke 1400.
