CCC Cell Phone
Policy
Unless approved by
the Director, after 7:30pm, the use of a cell
phone in the playing area is strictly
prohibited. First offense subtracts 10 minutes
from violators clock; second offense may result
in forfeiture of game.

continuously updated, we will report a
weekly synopsis of the previous meeting
to include current standings, annotated
games, Sinanovic's Puzzle and other
interesting anecdotes for your reading,

The Charlotte
Chess Club is open to players
of every race, color, creed, national origin,

(or as early as 5:30 for some!) at the McALISTER'S
DELI 4805 Park Rd. Charlotte,

club, the CCC
conducts a perpetual 5 round
tournament with one round
being played each Wednesday
evening at 7:30

club membership fee is $25.
Current members receive $5 discount.

Explanation
of "Weekly Tournament Competition" The
CCC conducts a perpetual 5 round
tournament with one round being played
each Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm. sharp!
The time control is G75 - All
players who compete in tournament
competition are required to be members of
the United
States Chess Federation.
Regardless of which round(s) one
chooses to enter, a player only gets credit
for the game(s) he actually plays. There is
no
penalty for not showing up; it is
simply counted as an unplayed game. -

10:30pm.

inclement weather turnout of 28 of
the most contented calculators in the
city converged upon this
palatial ballroom more commonly known as McAlister's
Deli in order to
participate in Rd:2
of McAlister's II. In the Top
Section, newly crowned Expert
Emmanuel Carter (2002) defended
handily against Expert Michael
"Bolton" Kliber (2038) and finally won in
the end (See
Game 1351) to lead with 2-0.
Meanwhile, the CCC's #1
player, NMShawn "P Diddy" Pealer
(2162) played the Grand PrixAttack
versus the Pride of Mint
Hill, ex-member of the NCCAHall of Fame, NMLeland"Ennui"
Fuerstman (2042), sacrificed a
few pieces and ultimately forced
resignation on move 27 while Expert
Patrick "Flanker" McCartney
(2056) pressed on in an equal Rook
& Knight ending against
"Wild" Bill Connell (1946) and
ultimately claimed the point. In the "B"
Section, Lorenzo
Carter (1688) routed Carl McKern
(1618) to lead with 2-0.
In addition, Kydriana Carter
(1610) ran all of 15
minutes off her clock in order to
dispatch of "Little" Joe Little
(1624). In the "C" Section,
"Big" Joe Rafferty (1530)
snagged "Smokin" Corey Frazier's
(1402) Queen and proceeded to
score with win to lead with 2-0.
Meanwhile, Ervon "Wooden' Nichols
(1520) handled a stubborn Eric "Truth"
Hartung (1245) while Mikey
"Fox" Trott (1422) made peace
with returnee to CCC
competition Marnzell "Pat" Hand
(1600). In the Lower Section,
Rich "Alert" Trela
(1035) held Debs Pedigo (1203)
to a Draw to lead with 1.5-.5.
In addition, Claude Rainford
(1077) outplayed Charlene Howard
(941), Rajesh Ganatra (860)
defeated Emmanuel Cooper (934) and Mohnish
Behera (1011) dispatched of Mike
