0149 - Leland: I see on the website that you are planning some Sunday tourneys. Would you consider having them at a location that is quieter than Bertucci's or Wendy's? And with possibly a slighthly slower time control? For what it's worth, these are the reasons I don't play in the Saturday tourneys. I won't be at the club tomorrow (and probably the next week ) due to work, so I thought I'd better get my two cents in. See you soon...  Gary

Gary: Thanks for your input. No one complained about noise at Bertucci's last weekend because for the first time, they turned the music completely off! As for slower time controls, the only logical way to incorporate this would be to reduce the number of rounds to 2. Otherwise, we would not finish until much later than any restaurant owner (or director) would agree to (and generally for an extra fee). (Over the years, I have competed in many tournaments with "longer" time controls whereby Rd:3 finished after midnight!?!). Therefore, there must be some conpromise. Which do you prefer? Longer time controls and fewer rounds or vice versa? As for the site which I have chosen, we would have "almost" a complete use of the entire restaurant with a capacity of 26 players. LF
