0152 - I agree with Patrick about a number of things.  Firstly, a tournament needs to have at least 3 rounds to better determine the winners.  Also, two issues I had with the last Bertucci's tournament, that a few people had, were the sound and lighting.  I never thought I'd be complaining about this, but when it came down to crunch time and I only had a minute or two to work with, the sound became increasingly distracting.  I blame this distraction for costing me a win.  I instead had to settle for a draw in a completely won position.  When it comes down to the wire, you just can't afford to have any type of constant distraction (at least, I have come to find that I can't afford it).  If that problem has been fixed, then it is definitely a step in the right direction.  Another option, (not necessarily a good one for us out-of-towners) is to have an earlier start time, perhaps 9:30 or 9:00.  And like Patrick said, if you have concrete start times, for each round, no exception (well, maybe the rare 10-minute exception), you can afford to increase time control in that manner.  (I personally don't mind the time control, but I wouldn't mind having a few extra minutes to work with either.)
That's my word.
