"First chess, then violence: Man attacks 3 with ax handle From staff reports - A day of chess and drinking turned violent Saturday night in Myrtle Beach when a man attacked three others with an ax handle.
According to a Myrtle Beach police report, three men were playing chess in a residence at Crickentree Apartments around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when the incident occurred. The suspect reportedly was making sexual comments and became rude when a victim's mother asked him to leave.
According to the report, the man grabbed an ax handle and began swinging at the others. One victim told police he was struck in the head, shoulder and arms. He said the suspect held a knife to his neck before fleeing.
The mother in the incident said the suspect struck her thumb with the ax handle as she attempted to call 911. The man reportedly broken the woman's telephone, CD player and a drinking glass.
The third victim told police he was struck in the face, causing a minor bruise.
According to the police report, all victims had been drinking and ask to wait before being interviewed by a detective.
The suspect in the incident has not been found."
