Leland,
The week of June 19 - 23, Columbia will be graced with the presence of Gm Ftacnik and IM Kopec (Kopec will only be staying Monday, June 19).  We have worked out a tentative schedule of events which include:
*Monday, June 19 in Columbia, SC: -Exhibition Match: IM Kopec Vs. GM Ftacnik, with running commentary (in seperate rooms)
*Tuesday, June 20 in Columbia, SC: -USCF quick-rated blitz tournament featuring GM Ftacnik
*Thursday, June 22 in Columbia, SC: -Cooperation Match: 2004 SC State Champion Keith Eubanks + 2005 SC State Champion Klaus Pohl vs. GM Ftacnik (w/ possible internet broadcasting) -Simultaneous Exhibition/GM Lecture featuring GM Ftacnik
*Friday, June 23 in Greenville, SC: -Simultaneous Exhibition/GM Lecture featuring GM Ftacnik

GM Ftacnik will also be competing in the SC Open the weekend of June 23-25. I have spoken with SCCA Secretary David Grimaud, who has been generous enough to help sponsor these events, about the possibility of Ftacnik visiting the Charlotte Chess Club on Wednesday, June 21.  I would like to get the feedback of the CCC as to how this grandmaster can be utilized to add to your already successful schedule.  One suggestion would be to have an exhibition match between Ftacnik and one of the top CCC players, such as Rangarajan or Chumachenko, that could be broadcasted in real-time over the internet for all to see.  I'm open to any suggestions.  All reasonable ideas will be considered (Ftacnik claims he is up for just about anything).  By the way, the above events are open to anyone wishing to participate.  Full details will be available soon at scchess.org.
