The Asheboro Open XVII is this Saturday, October 7th, 2006.  Last month it was our privilege to host twenty-nine of NC's most dedicated weekend warriors.  The North Carolina Open is this month folks... this is a great time to perfect your technique before the Grand Championship.  Come hone your skills with some of the best players in the state! Am I the only one who has noticed?  North Carolina Chess is stronger than ever--thanks to dedicated players like you.  Whatever your chess goals, The Asheboro Open is here for you.  Our goal is to give you maximum value for your chess dollar, and memories you will keep for a lifetime.
The competition here is fierce and friendly.  That's the BIG TOURNAMENT experience.

NEWS FLASH:  NM Craig Jones will be playing in the Championship Section this month.  Craig is
a dedicated player, coach, and father.  Son Ben Jones will accompany his father, along with Connor
Labean and perhaps some other scholastic players.  Many other players have notified me of their intent
to play, so we are expecting a strong turnout this month.  Don't miss out!

Over the past several months we have seen terrific turnouts, but let's blow the top off the popper!
Our goal is to average 30 players each month, but we can certainly accommodate more.  Your
participation is the key to our success.  We appreciate your commitment to North Carolina Chess.
