Fellow Chessplayers:
The South Carolina Open is coming up.  Mark you calendars, tell your
significant others, beg your parents, and be there or be square.  This will be a land mark event held in a wonderful venue with wonderful
opportunities for food, refreshments, entertainment all around Main Street Greenville.  We have GM Lubomir Ftacnik returning to promote chess in South Carolina, challenge Upstate players in a Simul., and play in the Open.  This year we have the addition of GM Roman
Dzindzichashvili running two workshops directly before the tournament and also playing in the Open.  So its time for Southeastern Masters, experts, and other "underrated" players (aren't we all), to step up and
take your shot or just come out and enjoy the competition, find the brilliancies, and talk shop.
I look forward to seeing you all.
Mick
