Fellow Chessplayers: I'm going to ask you to do me a favor. Please buy more food and drink!!!!! The Charlotte chess community has recently been blessed with the use of an excellent chess venue! The very quiet "private room" at the Seafarer Restaurant has enough room for 100 players, 8 foot x 30" tables with "new" tablecloths, comfortable full size padded chairs, excellent lighting, cold air-conditioning, direct parking, excellent food of all types at great prices, soft drinks, beer & wine, coffee, his & hers bathrooms, our own waitress, a full size  demonstration board and plenty of room to move around and socialize! - Naturally, there is a trade-off. Owner/Manager Chris Copsis has gone the extra mile by stepping up the lighting, providing a private waitress, offering a "CCC Special" meal for $10 and allowing us to stay until 11:00pm! In return, he asks that "more members enjoy the food and drink," and that "folks simply say 'hello' when they enter and 'good-bye' when they leave!!?" (I explained that the attitudes of some of our members had previously been affected by the disrespectful mechanical robots at Wendy's, but that a few others simply have bad manners!? Hey guys, be friendly to Chris; he loves everybody!) The Charlotte Chess Club is an organization which welcomes players from all walks of life. Socialization and personal interaction are very much a part of what we do. Each member is treated with respect and dignity regardless of his race, color, creed, national origin or station in life. So, since you have to eat anyway, why not treat yourself to an "excellent meal" at the Seafarer next Wednesday and have "fun" playing at the Charlotte Chess Club! The success of any club is determined solely by it's numbers... ours need to increase. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
