Policy
Unless approved by
the Director, after 7:30pm, the use of a cell
phone in the playing area is strictly
prohibited. First offense subtracts 10 minutes
from violators clock; second offense may result
in forfeiture of game.

The Charlotte

Explanation
of "Weekly Tournament Competition" The
CCC conducts a perpetual 5 round
tournament with one round being played
each Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm. sharp!
The time control is G75 - All
players who compete in tournament
competition are required to be members of
the United
States Chess Federation.
Regardless of which round(s) one
chooses to enter, a player only gets credit
for the game(s) he actually plays. There is
no
penalty for not showing up; it is
simply counted as an unplayed game. -

the Top Section, 14
year old phenom Daniel Cremisi
(2089) took a Half point Bye
while he competes in a National
Scholastic event! Meanwhile,
the CCC's #2 player, NM
Pat "Kahn" Sciacca
(2160) got involved in a complicated
middle game with Expert
Michael "Bolton" Kliber (2035) who
lost the exchange (See Game
1342) and finally the
game. Sciacca will face off
against Cremisi next Wednesday
evening. In addition,
the Pride of Mint Hill,
ex-member of the NCCAHall
of Fame, NMLeland
"Ennui" Fuerstman (2051)
played an offbeat variation against
the Modern Defense of
Dr. Ron "Dutch" Breukelaar (1814) who
rejected a Draw offer on move
26(See Game
1341) and proceeded to
lose a Pawn
up K&P ending?!
while Expert Patrick "Flanker" McCartney
(2054) converted a time trouble OCB
endgame into an upset victory over the
CCC's #1 player, NM
Shawn "P Diddy" Pealer (2195).
Meanwhile, new CCC member and
soon to be Expert 14
year old Emmanuel Carter
(1997) defeated Ben Hinson (1669). In the "B" Section,
Paul "Survivalist" Lucas
(1667) kept the streak alive with a
nice win over Carl McKern (1644) to
lead with 4-0.
In addition, Spencer "Jazzman"
Singleton (1631) outplayed
"Little" Joe Little (1623) while new CCC
member Lorenzo Carter
(1698) split the point with Jason
"1st Amendment" Mytrysak
(1522) after he again, overlooked
checkmate!? (See
Game 1340). In the "C"
Section, "Smokin" Corey
Frazier (1402) knocked out Mikey
"Fox" Trott (1422) to lead
with 3-1.
Meanwhile, new CCC member Kydriana
Carter (1599) exacted prompt
revenge from Ervon "Wooden" Nichols
(1514) from last Tuesday
evening while Joe Rafferty
(1422) defeated Debs Pedigo (1284). In
the Lower Section, Rich
"Alert" Trela (1031) took down
Emmanuel Cooper (923) while Eric
"Truth" Hartung (1228) took
down Michael Lyons (102) each leading
with 3-1.
Hartung and Trela will
play for the cash next week! In
