Policy
Unless approved by
the Director, after 7:45pm, the use of a cell
phone in the playing area is strictly
prohibited. First offense subtracts 10 minutes
from violators clock; second offense may result
in forfeiture of game.

continuously updated, we will report a
weekly synopsis of the previous meeting
to include current standings, annotated
games, Sinanovic's Puzzle and other
interesting anecdotes for your reading,
viewing, and listening pleasure. We

The Charlotte
Chess Club is open to players
of every race, color, creed, national origin,

(or as early as 5:30 for some!) at the McALISTER'S
DELI 4805 Park Rd. Charlotte,

tournament with one round
being played each Wednesday

Explanation
of "Weekly Tournament Competition" The
CCC conducts a perpetual 5 round
tournament with one round being played
each Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm. sharp!
The time control is G75 - All
players who compete in tournament
competition are required to be members of
the United
States Chess Federation.
Regardless of which round(s) one
chooses to enter, a player only gets credit
for the game(s) he actually plays. There is
no
penalty for not showing up; it is
simply counted as an unplayed game. -

(2057) traded his Queen for a couple of
Rooks versus the CCC's #1 player,
NM Shawn "P Diddy" Pealer (2194) who made a
couple of lazy middle game moves (See Game 1303)
and walked into a Rook and Bishop
mate! Meanwhile, the pride of Mint Hill, Ex-member
of the NCCAHall of Fame,
NMLeland "Ennui" Fuerstman

threatened to sac a piece against the Kingside
complex of Dr. Ron "Dutch" Breukelaaar (1814)
but thought better of it only to end up with an
isolated Queen pawn. However, with 5 minutes
remaining, the Dutchman blundered a

1301) giving the venerable Master
an early birthday gift! In addition, after a
rather boring
encounter(See
Game 1302) Expert Nikita
Panasenko (2043) split the point with
"Wild" Bill Connell (1908). In the "B"
Section, Allen "Moon" Mullins
(1701) mounted a strong King side attack

against Carl McKern (1580) to lead with 3-1. In
addition, "Little" Joe Little (1623)
upset Paul "Survivalist" Lucas (1725). In the "C"
Section, Jason "1st Amendment"

"Wooden" Nichols (1494) who oversteped the time
limit. Mytrysak and McKern share
the lead with 3
points. In the Lower Section, Joe

the most loyal members of the CCC Royal
Guard congregated at the 7th floor of the Dowd
"Y" in order to participate in Knights
Templar IX. In the Carlsen
Section, 14
year old phenom Daniel Cremisi (2095)
dispatched of Ervon "Wooden" Nichols (1546) in
Rd:1, Ian "Flemming" Haigler (1625) in
Rd:2 and prevailed after a see-saw
encounter with NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman
(2061) in the final round to finish clear 1st
Place with 3-0
and pocket $100.
Clear 2nd Place was taken by 10 year old Greenville,
SC favorite son Neo Zhu (1748)
who scored 2.5-.5
and won $50.
In the Aronian Section, Joe
Rafferty (1312) finished
clear 1st Place with 2.5-.5 and won
$50. Clear
2nd Place with 2-1
was Eric "Truth" Hartung (1261) winning
