Tonight...
Moving to
McAlisters
Deli on Park
Rd!!
******************************************** Since
the Chairman
of the NCCA
Invitational
Selection
Committee has
chosen not to
step forward
and provide
any
explanations,
a minor
shakeup has
occurred
within their
list of
invitees. For
reasons
unknown, LM
Chris Mabe
(2350) has
backed out and
been replaced
with Expert
Aaron
Balleisen
(2120). And, I
hate to be a
party pooper
but further
scrutiny of
their
Membership
list indicates
that LM Robbin
Cunningham had
not been a
member of the
NCCA for some
time? Seems
like Pealer
and McNeill
are being
bullied!? The
problem is
that someone,
again, waited
until the last
minute to do
his job and
properly vet
potential
candidates in
order to
provide that
list well
ahead of
time... now,
after
intentionally
violating
their own
rules, the
wrong players
are
participating?
By the way,
Dominique is
spelled with a
"q", not a
"g".

Congratulations
to NM
Patrick (Kahn)
Sciacca (2158)
who went 3-0 in the Top Section of RA37

Did Not KnowThat?! Of
the Top

one player
was actually "born"
in North

That would be 30

Dominguez

from Havana, Cuba
who is currently #10
in the world!!

Fuerstman, Quick Question: Last
year, it was reported that the NCCA
had over $15,000
in the bank! I'm just wondering what
the balance of that account is
now?" Jason "1st Amendment"
Mytrysak --- Jason:
That information is provided on a
"need to know" basis; and you don't
"need to know!?" Last years annual
report did NOT include that balance?
You could try contacting the
Secretary/Treasurer of the NCCA at
Kabasakalian@carolina.rr.com After
all, it should be public knowledge.
But, don't hold your breath waiting
for a response. I believe it's about
time for an independent audit.

now leading
with 3.5-.5,
Expert Patrick "Flanker" McCartney
(2057) traded his Queen for a couple of
Rooks versus the CCC's #1 player,
NM Shawn "P Diddy" Pealer (2194) who made a
couple of lazy middle game moves and walked into
a Rook and Bishop mate!
Meanwhile, the pride of Mint Hill, Ex-member
of the NCCAHall of Fame,
NMLeland "Ennui" Fuerstman
(2051)
threatened to sac a piece against the Kingside
complex of Dr. Ron "Dutch" Breukelaaar (1814)
but thought better of it only to end up with an
isolated Queen pawn. However, with 5 minutes
remaining, the Dutchman blundered a
piece giving the venerable Master an
early birthday gift! In addition, after a see-saw battle, Expert
Nikita Panasenko (2043) split the point
with "Wild" Bill Connell (1908). In the
"B" Section, Allen "Moon" Mullins
(1701) mounted a strong King side attack
and finally pushed through against Carl McKern
(1580) to lead with 3-1.
In addition, "Little" Joe Little (1623)
upset Paul "Survivalist" Lucas (1725). In the "C"
Section, Jason "1st Amendment"
Mytrysak (1444) snapped a Pawn
and ultimately caused Ervon "Wooden" Nichols
(1494) to overstep the time limit. Mytrysak
and McKern share the lead with 3 points. In the
Lower Section, Joe Rafferty
(1216) outplayed Rich "Alert" Trela (950) to
lead with 4-0.
Meanwhile, Mikey "Fox" Trott
(1473) bested Eric "Truth" Hartung (1261) while
Debs Pedigo (1324) took care of Michael
Lyons (101). In order to observe all results see "Current Crosstable."Next week,
